History Repeats Itself
A few days ago when the news broke about the mysterious explosion in Russia, I had a very bad feeling. Today I had the confirmation that I was right. What's happened? I'll tell you.
There's been an explosion which resulted in five dead nuclear experts. That is terrible. Every life lost is a great loss but when it comes to nuclear explosion, we can't just look at the number of lives lost. A nuclear explosion is not like a normal explosion that affects a certain area. When chemicals and nuclear material is involved, things can't be controlled.
It was a failed attempt to test the Burevestnik missile, also known as Skyfall, at a military test site in northern Russia, not far from the port of Severodvinsk.
The Arkhangelsk regional governor told TASS that the area around the explosion would not be evacuated. But the reports of the brief radiation spike and the lack of information around the incident raised immediate red flags.source
The above article is five days old, it was published on the 13th August, 2019.
Today I'm hearing that there are seven scientist dead already and one medic treating injured at the scene is also dead because they were not warned about the nuclear risks.
Ring a bell? Is this situation familiar to you? To me it is. History has the habit of repeating itself and looks like Russia has learned nothing about the last disaster. Secrecy is more important than human lives.
After the Chernobyl explosion hundreds died because of radiation contamination and no one cared, their only concern was to keep quiet. The evacuation of the surrounding areas were delayed which made things worse.
Now the evacuation of the village next to the explosion site was abruptly canceled.
Rosgidromet, the Russian meteorological agency, reported that Severodvinsk recorded radiation levels four to 16 times higher than normal background levels on Thursday. The Russian military on Thursday told state news agencies that radiation levels in the vicinity were normal.
Irina Sakharova, the deputy head of Severodvinsk, told TASS the situation in Nyonoksa was normal.
"Everything is calm at Nyonoksa, life goes on," she said, according to TASS. source
Normal? Define normal. What is normal? Looks like this is normal to them. After the Chernobyl disaster, when the hospitals were full of people suffering from radiation poison, the best solution for them was to modify the normal radiation limit by raising it. Suddenly the people suffering from radiation poisoning were not suffering anymore according to the new rules.
The truth is that there is no truth, just stories authorities choose to tell and the victims were unlucky to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, right?

What a mess. So, just weeks after everyone got interested in the Chernobyl Documentary, they act like this? Very weird, to say the least.
That is never going to change.

The TV program Chernobyl was eye opening for me. There is so much potential for disaster in many countries around the world, but Russia seems to be leading the pack.
They will never change, they are going what they did in 1986. No matter how many lives they have to sacrifice. It's outrageous.
I completely agree. And then I think of all the nuclear power plants in this country that are built in earthquake country....
That too. Look at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.
