Palcoin Post & Tag

Yesterday I informed us that we got 199 palcoin airdrop for the community account and that it had been claimed. I also mentioned that I’ll be doing our upvotebuilders from the palnet.io platform and including the #palnet tag so that we see how lucky we get earning more palcoin via authors reward and curation of members, this doesn’t affect our earnings on Steemit.com in anyway. We’ll just be earning from both platforms.

The Big News

Yesterday I asked us to check today for The Big News. Well it is just actions we have to take now to ensure that we are positioning the community to be sustainable, grow in reward delivery to its members and take full advantages of the changes that are happening and will happen in the future.

In less than a week of implementing the membership level voting rate, I can say the result has been more successful than I had. Our 100% voting weight is now in the range of $0.38 to $0.41 instead of the $0.31 to $0.34 range we were hitting. The best part of this is that it keeps improving. I had thought that after a week our VP will be voting in the range of 81% to 90% which should deliver $0.35 to $0.39+ upvote at full voting weight as mentioned last week. But we are currently doing 87% to 92%.

AS WE ARE

We have a 3 month 1000 SP lease that was donated by our big sponsor and it will be expiring next month, we need to prepare for that.

I have been supporting as regards financing the renewal of most the leased SP that are about to expire of recent because our upvotes and curation rewards are not enough to cover the cost.

I funded the leasing of 3900 SP for the second account to help to help lift the pressure on our main account and judge @emergehealthier also donated 1SBD and delegation of 100 SP as her support to the community.

A new change is expected from HF21 which should see curation at 50%/50%.

Average curation SP daily stands at 5.22 SP (using last 5 days starting from 6th June).

52.79 Steem is needed to extend all leased SP on @upvotebuilders by 1 month (it excludes the 1000 SP sponsored lease which has more than 28 days to expire).

78.015 Steem is needed to extend all leased SP on @ub-sub1by 1 month.

Combined required Steem needed for the two accounts SP lease for 4 weeks is 130.808 Steem.

GOING FORWARD

We are heading to the level where we will be sustainable and be able to reward our members greatly as we keep growing. At the start of the community, we were meant to reward members from curation rewards but the reality on ground i.e. funding for SP lease renewal and low earning made a pause to that necessary.

While I will continue to provide funding where necessary to keep the community running until it attains sustainability levels. Here are actions been taken to help us move forward, overcome pending challenges and be ready to seize the pending opportunities from the changes that are head of us.

It pays the community that it is upvoting members at a reasonably rewarding manner as that also grows the community account and makes us bigger and better. Your success is our success. Together we form an awesome power for the benefit of all.

Steps

With an average daily curation at 5.22 SP it means that in 91 days (13 weeks) the community would receive 475 SP in curation reward. Bear in mind that authors reward and SBD reward are not included in this calculation.

It means 475 SP curation is what we can earn in total in 91 days time assuming everything remains the same i.e. no growth. A 450 SP power down will generate 34.62 weekly i.e. 450/13 = 34.62 which will translate to 138.46 every 4 weeks. This action will offset any pending SP renewal and also give us leverage to increase our SP via SBD the rewards.

We will now be leasing SP in smaller sizes 50 to 200 and on 12 weeks leasing plan because it offers cheaper SP lease and we will gradually be doing away with the larger leases as they were acquired at higher cost at 4 weeks and a drop in them usually affects the VP as that size is noticeable compared to a drop in 50 to 200 SP.

As an instance to the paragraph above and to support the push for 12 weeks lease instead of 4 weeks. The 1000 SP we leased for 12 weeks was at a cost of 50.42 Steem at an APR of over 18.6% which translates to 16.807 Steem for 4 weeks. Leasing 1000 SP for 4 weeks at the same APR of 18.6% will cost us 18.692. It means we saved 1.885 Steem by choosing the 12 weeks plan over the 4 weeks plan. That may appear small but when you look at all the lease we have going you’ll discover it is a substantial amount.

To clarify, this is just to demonstrate that the 12 weeks leasing plan is cheaper than the 4 weeks leasing plan. However, we will stick with leasing smaller sizes so that we can afford longer term leases.

I will start manually upvoting @upvotebuilders post i.e. @upvotebuilders upvotes @upvotebuilders, I said manually because it will only be done when our VP is high so that it does not greatly affect members’ upvote rewards. This is to help increase our revenue which provides help in increasing SP leasing or SP lease renewal. At the beginning, it was done that way but when we were having issues with our VP I had to put a stop to it.

The 400 SP @upvotebuilders delegated to @ub-sub1 has been undelegated, it was done today at a time when its VP was about 97% and after that it dropped to 93%+. Rewards for members on @ub-sub1 was calculated at a VP of 90%, so anytime your VP is over 90% you are actually getting more than you would be if you are on a 90% VP at @upvotebuilders. The 400 SP should show up at @upvotebuilders in about 5 days time and powering down should take another 7 days to get our first payment. As I earlier stated, I’ll continue to cover any cost arising from lease renewal until we get our first payment.

We are a growing community and I very much appreciate your support always and that is what is giving me the strength I need to continue pushing the community to greater heights.

With the steps and as we progress I am hoping we will return to our initial plan of rewarding members not only with upvotes but also with curation rewards as planned at the beginning. A lot of things are coming our way, the 50% curation rewards will really have a positive effect on the community, which why we need to grow above where we are before they start kicking off.

This section will be removed from subsequent post, @ketcom was funding the promotion our post to help earn rewards for the community which was used to help extend our SP leases and help place it on the trending page, but the amount was most time not so great so the trending page idea didn’t work out great but the assist in SP lease renewal did help. To continue showing it without paying to promote new post was making it look out dated.

If you want to sponsor the community you can freely delegate SP to us and specify that it is for sponsorship or you can send us Steem/SBD to lease more SP.
