Yeah, but there's that pesky 1,000 foot tall ice wall to deal with. One thing for sure, my cats would be trying to catch all the fish!

Which reminds me . . . Another way we know the Earth isn't flat?

Mariana Trench, Mount Everest . . . and Inyo County, California . . . home to both the highest (Mount Whitney, in the Inyo National Forest) and lowest (Badwater Basin in Death Valley) elevations in the state, which are also the highest and lowest elevations in the lower 48 states.

I thought this was cool, too, regarding why Everest isn't actually the tallest mountain, when measured from Earth's center:
