5 Reasons to Do a "Refresh" in Culture

in #partiko6 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone! Good day to all of you! I attended Gabii sa Kabilin last May 24, 2019 and I am satisfied on what I did. I am half dissapointed/ empowered at the whole course of event which you will know why in the next blog.

Gabii sa Kabilin is an actual cultural show which promotes museums and other heritage sites in Cebu which are open from 6:00 pm to 12 midnight. Gabii which means night and Kabilin which is a synonym for heritage enables people especially the Cebuano to look back in time and appreciate what molds us into our history.

So with this course, I knew all along I had to do a refresh course in History but in a more exiciting way- Museum Hopping!
And here are all the reasons why you should try to.

1. Know more about our Culture

In this fast paced time, I know that all of us can do one search for a history that we want to know. I know it's good but nothing beats to the "real world". The essence of touching, feeling and walking through those museum aisles and streets will somehow bring back the golden memory of the past. And as you are feeling it, you are also learning and that's why it is good!

2. Meet people with the same passion as you

The moment I hopped in the bus, I knew there are a lot of people who share the same love and passion as me and I am glad to be in that environment. I actually met a person which was actually been participating the same event for 8 years and gave us tips on what museum we should go to. Double kill for me, eh?

3. Gain sense of belonginess

As Filipino, we often forget where we came from because almost at everything that we do there's some culture and history that do it better or worst- more "nicer" to our eyes. And with refreshing with the culture, I can actually say that I appreciate people who fought for us for our independence, the ones who do so amazing things like hats, native goods and foods that will remain as made by the Filipino, bravery of the Filipino and History of a Filipino! And as a Filipino it ia a very rare good feeling to be proud of something that we came from.

And that's it! I hope I made sense in this blog! I'll see you guys soon for my Museum trips here in Cebu and I'll share you some amazing things that I have witnesses but for now Paalam muna (I'll say goodbye)

May God bless you.
May God bless the Philippines!

Thank you everyone ❤
