Hit me up and I'll give you some guidelines on EOS needed getting started. Nothing except an EOS account is needed because there is an end game currency and EOS currency used to purchase in game items.

It's more of what's needed to set-up an EOS account + 0.1 EOS to purchase the first toon, but like I said a little more EOS is required for other things.

I don't think you'll enjoy it as I'm much more of a passive gamer now that one who has a few hours to devote to a game. This is a game that would be enjoyed while playing POE or watching a movie. Almost like an idle game.
