RE: [HOW-TO] Claim PPY ICO balances that were donated from HD Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet (BIP32)

in #peerplays8 years ago (edited)

Hey @bart2305,

I think what you need to use is the active private key (Careful!) of the bitshares account that owns the PEERPLAYS asset or had a sharedrop balance.

You should have an account on the peerplays chain that is prefixed by "bts-" and then your bitshares account name. For instance, "bts-bart2305" or "bts-robrigo".

Sort:

Nothing prefixed I think. I created an account on Peerplays and used the same account name that I use on Bitshares. But now I need to find some key to redeem the PPY.

Do you mind telling me your bts name?

same as here, bart2305

Ok, cool. I just looked in the genesis.json file for the Peerplays chain and you do in fact have a "bts-bart2305" account. You can claim this account by using the CLI client for peerplays... or potentially by importing your active private key from bitshares for "bart2305" at the claim balances page in the GUI wallet (I haven't tried this, though).

In order to find your active private key, you need to go into your bitshares wallet, select the "bart2305" account, and go to the permissions tab. There you can reveal your active private key which can be used to claim the balances owned by "bts-bart2305" on the peerplays chain.

NOTE: this is sensitive, do not share your active private key with anyone!

I just closed my pc. I will look into it tomorrow. I appreciate your help. Thanks a lot.

Happy to help! Have a good one.

The Peerplays chain has a bart2305 account because I created it today. I created an account on my new Peerplays wallet and used that name again.
Isn't that why you found it there? Or has that nothing to do with it.

Nope, you're talking about "bart2305" and I'm talking about "bts-bart2305" (which has your shares from the bitshares sharedrop and possibly also PEERPLAYS tokens).

I did it! Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Oh great! Thanks again :D
