These cheese meat wraps (or “Persian-style meat and pepper pockets”) are perfect for a cozy dinner, party bites, or even meal prep.
Let’s dive into this flavor-packed creation.
📝 Ingredients:
300g ground beef (or lamb)
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, diced
1 medium red bell pepper, diced
1 tsp tomato paste
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
½ tsp garlic powder or 1 clove fresh garlic
1 cup shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese
Lavash bread / tortilla wraps / yufka (as needed)
2 tbsp oil (for frying the filling)
Optional: fresh parsley, chili flakes
🍳 Instructions:
🔹 Step 1: Cook the filling
In a hot pan, add oil and sauté onions until soft.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Add turmeric, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Stir well, then add diced bell peppers and cook until tender.
Let it cool slightly.
🔹 Step 2: Prepare the wraps
Lay out a piece of lavash or tortilla.
Place 2 tablespoons of the meat-pepper mix in the center, sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
Fold the sides inward and roll tightly into a pocket (like a burrito or small parcel).
🔹 Step 3: Cook the wraps
You have two options:
Pan-fry: Lightly oil a pan and grill each side until golden brown and the cheese melts.
Bake: Brush with oil, place on a tray, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes.
🧀 Serving ideas:

Goes perfectly with pickles or a fresh green salad
