there are always more implicit ones like farmers wanting to make more money by exporting so they clear more land for a single crop, this again works to destroy balances
there are good examples of how we have overcome damage from such things though, they are easily fixed if our intention is there, Loess plateau is a good example I can think of(early globalisation and its impacts)
