Sukhavagga: Happiness....I love the Dhammapada, my first Dharma book was a little pocket book I carried with me when I was learning my fist steps when disciplining the mind!
Happy indeed we live, friendly amidst the hostile. Amidst hostile men we dwell free from hatred.
The Dhammapada is taken from the Pali Canon and are some of the phrases taken from Gautama Buddha lectures and teachings.
To his followers, the Buddha is neither a god, a divine incarnation, or a prophet bearing a message of divine revelation, but a human being who by his own striving and intelligence has reached the highest spiritual attainment of which man is capable — perfect wisdom, full enlightenment, complete purification of mind. His function in relation to humanity is that of a teacher.
