RE: Tell me please.....

Typical cubic architectural style, austere and wisely chosen for compressing the individual but delegating power to the crowds. This kind of structure cannot be beautiful by default. It is exactly what the modern and partially the Post-modern trend tryed to impose, the anti-beautiful but fully functional urban structure. In other words if beauty has some normes that defined it for a certain given period it is no more the case. Beauty seems also fragile and is able to fragilisize its consumers while solid blocks of cement with rectangular holes playing the role of the windows offer to the crowds the illusion of equality under the protective shadow of an authoritarian structure that requires their toughness and a certain lack of sensitivity for the maintain of the constant growth of the mandatory economic status (globaly). Symbols of power and economic prosperity, these buildings might smash the personalities and shape characters of humans living and growing in such urban landscapes. The photography is good and the composition is also good but I really don't like this kind of urban style. These structures are definitely ugly!!! Nevertheless I like the composition. Have a nice and creative Tuesday!!!

Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this sort of thing. I suppose that we are going to have to come up with some definition of "beauty" which participants can agree upon in order to discuss this topic deeply. For instance, is a property of "beauty" that it cleanly and efficiently fits form to function? Is a guillotine more "beautiful" than a hangman's noose?
