Quince jam:
INGREDIENTS:
quince - 1.5 kg.
water 750 ml.
granulated sugar - 800 g.
PREPARATION:
- Thoroughly wash the quince and cut into 4 pieces. Peel the skin, remove the seed chamber and cut into small slices.
- Slices fill with water, bring to a boil and boil for 20 minutes, until softened.
- Pour into a colander and allow to cool.
- Decoction to use for the preparation of syrup.
For 3 cups of liquid, 800 grams of sugar. If the broth turned out to be less, add water.
Boil the syrup over a small fire until the sugar dissolves. This takes approximately 10 minutes. - In the boiling syrup, add the quince, allow to boil and boil for 5 minutes.
- At the end of the time, remove the pan from the cooker. Fruit leave in syrup for about 4 hours. During this time, they will become soaked with sugar.
- Next, cook for about 5 minutes and again insist 4 hours. When cooking quince jam a second time, add about 400 grams of sugar. On low heat bring to readiness.
- Allow to cool, pour into a jar, close the lid and put in the refrigerator.
