Meulaboh is the capital of West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The city is located about 175 km southeast of Banda Aceh on the Island of Sumatra. Meulaboh is a city of the birth of National Hero Teuku Umar Johan Pahlawan. Meulaboh is the largest city in the coastal south-west Aceh and one of the areas most severely affected by the earthquake tsunami caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake.
