RE: Utah Mighty 5 road trip - Day 1 - Zion National Park
Your photos are beautiful! Too bad it is so crowed there. Yellowstone was too when I was there a few years ago.

Thanks Melinda!
National parks are always crowded, the trick is to get up early and stay out late. I've found the crowds are very much from 9am-5pm. Also going off season is much better, especially in Yellowstone. I went in Late April and saw far more animals than when I've gone in the summer, and there were no crowds at all. We even had Old Faithful all to ourselves one evening, granted it was snowing sideways and 20ºF, but still cool to be there all alone.
My first trip to Yellowstone was in the late 70s and several times during the early 80s and it felt like pure Wilderness to me. A few years ago when I went it was in September, and I actually had to stand in line to take pictures. I did see a grizzly bear though. That was pretty special.
