Macrophotographs of a brown beetle
This specimen is a member of the hexapod insects with a body somewhat more elongated than wide, but higher from the abdomen. It presents a very differentiated sexual dimorphism, and this arthropod is a female of the species with a light brown body with black spots on its head and black stripes along its elytra.
And below I will present many more macrophotographs of this brown beetle specimen.
I have prepared this work with photographs taken with my Sony camera and Xiaomi cell phone, so I release the copyright so that you can use the images freely. All the text is original from @aqua.nano after an exhaustive search for information on this animal species.
My native language is Spanish, so I have used Google Translator to translate it into English and share it on the steemit.com platform.
With its somewhat oval body and slow movement, it gave me time to make several videos to detail the morphology of its legs and antennae. The latter have 8 flagella and a termination of 3 segments, of the lamellar type due to their shape similar to flat sheets, very characteristic of the Scarabaeidae Family. They feed on the parts of a plant (leaves and flowers), while in their larval stage they consume part of the roots.
