Is Sony A6000 the best beginners Camera ? Read more to find out...

I have been using the Sony A6000 for landscapes and portraits for a couple of years now and the results have never been disappointing . Having come to Sony after using a Nikon DSLR for 3 years, I believe that the capabilities are leaps and bounds ahead. Few of the advantages come from being a mirrorless camera and the others comes from being a Sony A6000.

Pros:

• Price of the Sony A6000 is spot on for the capabilities it brings. New body for around 500$ and you can get a good refurbished ones for as low as 250$.
• Shooting 11 Frames per second gives the capabilities to capture fast moving objects.
• Much smaller in size when compared to even compact DSLR s
• Customizable buttons all over the camera
• NFC and Wi Fi makes editing and sharing pics a breeze especially if you have an android phone.
• Ability of add Apps, increasing the capabilities even more. Example: In built Time lapse creator etc.

Cons:

• Battery is not too great compared to full sized DSLR s, But the micro USB charging does reduce this issue.
• Camera has too many auto features that have to be understood so that they do not automatically kick in when taking a specific shot.
• Sony lens collection is expanding and in general the lens tend to be expensive. Though this can be offset using vintage lens which are lot economical.

Overall, I think the value this camera brings is outstanding. It has been a top seller in this category and has earned my respect.
