landscape photography - out of this world

out of this world

Photo taken in 2014 on Mt Shasta; from my Mt Shasta series.

I'm not very interested in taking true-to-life pictures: I apply a minimal color manipulation to all my images to create a somewhat other-worldly appearance. Also I don't use a lens cap because I enjoy capturing interesting sun flares as in this particular image.
Who said "don't take pictures looking into the sun"? Rules are to be broken.

I agree with your breaking rules. I think photography is an art, the photographer the painter, and the brush, the camera.

I recently removed my lens cap as well....such a rebel! I like to see glare sometimes and even a sun spot or two.

Yeah, conformity only results in a boring world :) I love to see the unexpected in a photograph.
