RE: Model for a Day - experiencing a studio shoot

in #photography7 years ago

What a fun day! I had a similar experience as far as the discovering-how-you-actually-look part goes a few months back, when I had to give a place a head shot of myself. I'm no model, but I don't think I need a bag over my head either. My husband isn't a professional photographer, but he has a nice camera, so I figured we'd just knock it out in ten minutes. How naive. I think we are all a bunch of ugly human beings without all that makeup when in front of a good camera.

Your pictures turned out great! And now if you ever have to put your bio up somewhere, you are all set with your head shot.

My best friend looked at the makeup artist's photos and she said it looked like me yet didn't look like me. That's what I thought too! And having seen the nude face photo, I may never leave the house without makeup again. Excuse me, I have to get back to smashing my mirrors! lol

Haha! It's a nice humbling experience. And I think it's a bit fun to play dress-up as our ideal physical selves.

Fun, yes, but no @ginnyannette, we don't like humbling experiences. I think I'm finally motivated to lose my winter weight. And Ian had suggestions for next time, pausing to see if I would still be willing. lol

Yes, do it again! I'd be curious to hear how your perspective changes on a second time. The only motivation I garnered from mine was to stay away from cameras forever :)

I think Ian is hoping to put more control in my hands so that I would pose on my own and we would have a routine of pose, click, pose, click. That was my impression and pretty much impossible the first time you do it. Yes, I would do it again!
