Australia is both a country and a continent. It is situated between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The land offers many different habitats, from mountains to rainforests.

In the middle of the continent, there is a large desert area called the outback. Most cities are found along the edges of the country.

A native plant is one that naturally grows in a certain place. Australia is home to many native plants.

Some native grass plants include kangaroo grass, wallaby grass, weeping grass, and windmill grass. These names are pretty fun! You can find these grasses in various environments. For example, kangaroo grass does well with lots of summer rain. Weeping grass prefers shady spots. Many grasslands in Australia have a mix of grasses and other plants, like flowers.

Popular Australian flowers include the kangaroo paw, the flannel flower, the billy button, and the red-flowering gum. These flowers come in different colors, shapes, and sizes. They grow in many types of environments. Many gardeners love flowers because they can be cut and used in presents or for decoration.
