[ENG-SPN] The Río Lobos Canyon, a gateway to other worlds / El Cañón del Río Lobos, una puerta a otros mundos

For those of us who, like the enigmatic Italian poet Dante Alighieri, also find ourselves a step beyond the center of our lives and are fortunate enough to carry behind us the experience of thousands of miles, which, with greater or lesser intensity, have brought us closer, tears and smiles aside, to something as wonderful as glimpsing, even as the horizon, the distant gates of the Palace of Wisdom, we have, as our guiding star, one of the immortal lines from the film 'Casablanca', which, although brief, sums it all up: 'We'll always have Paris.'

Let me, then, dear reader, dust off the trunk of memories, which, although its ironwork may rust, nonetheless holds a priceless treasure, and invite you to accompany me to a place where Nature, dreaming of itself, opens wide the door to other worlds, where, ultimately, the surprising thing would be not to allow oneself to be seduced and, upon leaving, let slip from between one's lips the promise of returning.

In the heart of Castile, where the moon woos cliffs, whose pareidolias resemble a fascinating Japanese Kabuki theater, where the extravagant scenes recall the surrealist works of Dalí, where mysterious lights, legends of treasures, and ghosts still entertain new generations who are nonetheless familiar with the rigors of winter and isolation, and where the Templars left one of their greatest treasures, the Romanesque-Gothic hermitage of Saint Bartholomew, to an indifferent posterity, the supernatural, if not present every day, is undoubtedly found on those clear nights, where the owl's song is the prelude to awakening an enchantment that, far from being definitively obliterated by the sands of time, is as real as the extraordinary adventure that awaits you if one day you drop by: the Río Lobos Canyon.

Para aquellos, que, como el enigmático poeta italiano, Dante Alighieri, también nos encontramos un paso más allá del medio de nuestra vida y tenemos la fortuna de llevar a nuestras espaldas la experiencia de miles de kilómetros, que, con mayor o con menor intensidad, nos han ido acercando, lágrimas y sonrisas aparte, a algo tan maravilloso como es vislumbrar, siquiera como el horizonte, las puertas en la distancia del Palacio de la Sabiduría, tenemos, como estrella polar, una de las frases inmortales de la película ‘Casablanca’, que, aunque breve, lo resume todo: ‘siempre nos quedará París’.

Déjame, entonces, amigo lector, que desempolve, pues, el baúl de los recuerdos, el cual, aunque oxidados sus herrajes, no por ello dejan de guardar un inapreciable tesoro y te invite a acompañarme a un lugar, donde la Naturaleza, soñándose a sí misma, nos abre, de par en par, la puerta a otros mundos, en los cuales, lo sorprendente, al fin y al cabo, sería no dejarse seducir y al partir, dejar escapar de entre los labios la promesa de volver.

En el centro de Castilla, allí donde la luna corteja a unos riscos, cuyas pareidolias semejan un apasionante teatro Kabuki japonés, en cuyos escenarios lo extravagante recuerda las obras surrealistas de Dalí, donde luces misteriosas, leyendas de tesoros y aparecidos entretienen todavía a las nuevas generaciones que ya conocen, sin embargo, los rigores del invierno y el aislamiento y donde los templarios dejaron a una posteridad indiferente uno de sus mayores tesoros, la ermita románico-gótica de San Bartolomé, lo sobrenatural, si no está a la orden del día, lo encuentras, sin duda alguna, en esas noches claras, donde el canto de la lechuza es el preludio a despertar un encantamiento, que, lejos de ser definitivamente cubierto por las arenas del tiempo, es tan real, como la extraordinaria aventura que te aguarda, si un día te dejas caer por allí: el Cañón del Río Lobos.
