[ENG-SPN] Threshold / Umbral
Do not be afraid, that my intention is far from referring to that writer, named Francisco - who had the curious ability to gloss in less than a minute a whole selection of gross grammatical meanings, when asked about something that had nothing to do with his books- but of a surname, which shares prominence, from my point of view -do not be afraid to contradict me, if you consider it wrong- with that archetype, the threshold, which I have always had the curious sensation of imagining as a surrealist scenario, in which life unfolds in a kind of inert drowsiness, in which it is sometimes truly difficult to discern between sleep and wakefulness.
Crossing a threshold, even thinking about it in a symbolic way, can come to mean, under the license of this perspective, leaving one world to access another, in the same way that happens, for example, when we cross the threshold of a temple and we access a spiritual world or as when we simply return to our home, and when we close the door of the house we leave behind the collective anonymity to become absolute kings of our intimacy.
No teman, que mi intención lejos está de hacer referencia a ese escritor, de nombre Francisco - que tenía la curiosa habilidad de glosar en menos de un minuto toda una selección de groseras acepciones gramaticales, cuando se le preguntaba de algo que no tuviera relación con sus libros- pero sí de un apellido, que comparte protagonismo, bajo mi punto de vista -no teman contradecirme, si lo consideran equivocado- con ese arquetipo, el umbral, del que siempre he tenido la curiosa sensación de imaginar como un escenario surrealista, en el que la vida se desenvuelve en una especie de inerte somnolencia, en la que en ocasiones resulta verdaderamente difícil discernir entre el sueño y la vigilia.
Atravesar un umbral, aunque sea planteándonoslo de una manera simbólica, puede llegar a significar, bajo la licencia de esta perspectiva, dejar un mundo para acceder a otro, de la misma manera que ocurre, por ejemplo, cuando atravesamos el umbral de un templo y accedemos a un mundo espiritual o como cuando regresamos simplemente a nuestro hogar, y al cerrar la puerta de casa dejamos atrás el anonimato colectivo para convertirnos en reyes absolutos de nuestra intimidad.
