Deosai, The Land of Giants
Deosai plains are located in northern Pakistan. They are the second highest plains of the world, with an elevation of 4114 meters , the highest are in Mongolia. Deosai is home to hundreds of different plants. It is also home to plenty of animals, and special ones too.
Deosai got the name "The Land of Giants" by the presence of the brown Himalayan bear. It is an endangered specie in the region. Unfortunately I was unable to capture one with my camera because of my short stay. Visitors like snow leopard have also been spotted in Deosai.
This is the entrance of Deosai plains. One has to cross the Astore valley first to reach Deosai.
Following are some special features of Deosai:

**Siachen** Siachen is a disputed territory in the Karakoram range. It stays snow-capped throughout the year. The average elevation is 5400m. The snowcapped mountains in photo below are of Siachen.

**Hotels in Deosai** There are no hotels in Deosai. Actually there's nothing artificial in Deosai, almost! So if you're interested in spending the night there, take your camping tents with you. So I encourage everyone to visit this unbelievable place. This must be on your bucket list.
Every photo is taken by me.
