A Star in the Garden

The Crepe Jasmine (Tabernaemontana divaricata), often called the Pinwheel Flower, is one of those blooms that seems to carry quiet grace wherever it grows. With its pure white petals shaped like tiny pinwheels, it doesn’t shout for attention the way bright roses or sunflowers do, yet its elegance is impossible to ignore.

Crepe Jasmine flowers usually open in the evening, releasing a light fragrance that feels almost calming. Their white blossoms, shining against deep green leaves, bring a sense of serenity to gardens, courtyards, and temple spaces. In many cultures, they are seen as symbols of purity, peace, and spiritual devotion.

What makes this flower remarkable is its simplicity. The soft, twisted petals resemble delicate crepe fabric, which is where its common name comes from. Unlike many showy flowers, Crepe Jasmine isn’t about extravagance it’s about subtle beauty. When a cluster of these flowers blooms together, it looks like stars scattered across a green sky.
