My own photography and my own poetry : 21 July 2025 | Fun with Children
Mountains that clawed at the deep sapphire dome,
Redwoods like titans, our transient, grand home!
They spun, little whirlwinds, with shouts ringing clear,
"A bear! A squirrel! Is a waterfall near?"
The dust on their knees, sticky fingers and bright,
Following whispers, drenched in emerald light!
A river that roared like a thunderous song,
Where pebbles were treasures, where they truly belonged!
The scent of damp earth, of sun-warmed granite so grand,
A map of pure wonder held tight in each hand!
Through canyons of silence, where echoes took flight,
They marched, little heroes, bathed in pure, vibrant light!
A buck, soft as velvet, beyond a green screen,
Eyes wide with amazement, a fantastical scene!
An eagle aloft, a dark, soaring grace,
Reflected in wonder on each small, upturned face.
They whispered of mystery, of creatures unseen,
In forests so ancient, profoundly serene!
Each step an adventure, a story untold,
A spirit igniting, braver and bold!
The world stretched before them, majestic and deep,
While secrets of eons the old mountains keep.
As twilight descended, a star-spangled cloak,
Around crackling embers, new legends awoke!
Tired little bodies, but minds fiercely bright,
Imprinted forever with primordial light!
The roar of the wild, the whisper of pine,
A memory forged, utterly, fiercely DIVINE!
They’d touched ancient wonders, felt nature’s grand heart,
And carried the wilderness, deep in each part!
