Some Eagles in the wild!
First up is the King of the Eagles, the famous African Fish Eagle.
Today I will show you 3 different Eagles!
To get these predator birds on camera in the wild is not easy and one always comes upon them totally unexpected. The fish eagle's cry is heard long before a person can see him and fortunately the guy in the photo above decided to bank in a swoosh right near me. I suspected that he would be near the farm dam and I was surrounded by trees, that's why I only got this one precious shot at him in an opening above my head.
Let's have a look!
This guy is the Wahlberg Eagle!
Can you believe that I got the two eagles below on the same day!
The photos below are of a Booted Eagle!
Finally, this little mongoose above couldn't know why I was scaring him away.
I was worried about all of the eagles around!
Oh yes, I love the predator birds even though I have a love/hate relationship with them. When one lifts a little lamb I can cry and the same with other little victims, but life is life and the predators have to eat and to also feed their own young.
Just the other day a news article bemoaned the fact that 20 vultures died due to someone killing them with a poisoned carcass. Then of course we have a huge poacher problem and the vulnerable Pangolins and Rhino's are now on the danger list. The bee populations are threatened and on and on we continue to decimate nature.
I fear that the day will arrive that our children will not see the birds in this post anymore. That they will only see stuffed birds and others of nature's beautiful residents. I repeatedly state these fears in the hope to bring about awareness of our plight. Believe me that these are not empty fears and even if the naysayers maintain that nature can re-populate herself, once some life is declared as extinct, it is over, finished.
Fly high birdies, fly, and may there be no end to you!
We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity.

That's amazing
They are wonderful!
This birds deserve to live and fly in the sky!
Thank you and totally agreed with you my friend!
Blessings!
You have some awesome shots here my friend. You’re so good at photographing birds. I don’t know how you always spot them. I am curious what camera you have, may I ask?
Thank you my friend and it's just a case of being alert in the wild.
You may certainly ask and I use a Canon Powershot SX60 HD.
Blessings!
Where does a person tag the resteem services such as @ocd-resteem and #phototalent when one only has 5 official tags available?
Am I doing the right thing by including them at the end of my posts?
Any answers here will be welcomed.
I love reading your wild animal series coz I also learn the animal exact names such as these exat type of eagles.
Nice to know dear Papillon.
Stay awesome
wow beautiful photographs of Eagles .
Thanks for share with us. have a nice day..
Simply amazing captures on all three eagles, life is about balance, the only ones tipping the scales in the wrong way are humans!
Mongoose with his tidbit what an classic expression on his face, I'm not gonna share this with you, what do you want on my patch?
Hahaha nice quip about the mongoose Lady Joan.
I saw him jumping about in the grass and had to scare him off, as an eagle will have both him and his prize.
Blessings!
Talons vs Teeth, would be quite a sight to behold!
I seen it once Lady Joan and the problem, as I was told, is that the grip of the talons in the lift breaks the victims back. The eagles know exactly where to grab him.
Blessings!
Great shots my friend. And yes, here are too so many changes in the environment. We lost 70% of our insects, which is food for birds on the other side. And a lot of the birds are in danger.
Its natural to have a love hate relationship with Birds of prey but WOW you got such amazing shots of them
Hahaha, the love side is showing here JJ.
Blessings and thanks to you my friend!
Ohh yes indeed your love if nature shows through in many of your posts including this one
Wow, beautiful birds! We have Bald eagles around here and I always feel so blessed and fortunate when I see them. Such majestic birds, all have their place on this earth, even the vultures :) Thank you for sharing these special pictures. I wasn't familiar with either of these eagles!
