Alpine Asters

This is one I like, the alpine aster. You know, it's not some big, fancy flower, but it's tough. It grows up high in the mountains, where it's all cold and windy, and you think nothing can live there. But it does. It's got these nice purple petals, and a yellow middle, and it looks a bit like a daisy, but... tougher, I think. You find 'em in little bunches on the rocky slopes. Makes you feel good to see something so pretty surviving in a place so wild.
