The Radiant Charm of Dahlia pinnata Flower
Dahlia pinnata is a bushy, tuberous, herbaceous plant native to the high plains of Mexico. With its broad green leaves and bold, symmetrical blooms, it’s easy to understand why gardeners across the globe have fallen in love with this flower. It belongs to the Asteraceae family, sharing a lineage with daisies and sunflowers, which might explain its radiant beauty.
Though it originally grew wild, centuries of hybridization have given us countless dazzling cultivars in an array of colors from fiery reds and soft pinks to vibrant purples and pure whites. Some varieties even show off bicolor petals and fascinating shapes, ranging from spiky to rounded pom-poms.
