That can grow from two to fifteen feet in height depending on the variety and environmental conditions the glossy dark green leaves are ovate with serrated edges adding to the ornamental value of the plant hibiscus blooms are usually short-lived lasting only one to two days but the plant produces flowers continuously throughout its growing season providing a steady display of beauty hibiscus thrives in warm climates with full sun and well-drained soil rich in organic matter it requires regular watering but should not be waterlogged and benefits from pruning to encourage branching.

And more prolific flowering propagation is usually done by cuttings or layering though seeds may also be used in many cultures hibiscus holds symbolic and practical significance in Hawaiian tradition it is considered a symbol of hospitality and delicate beauty in Hinduism it is offered to goddess Kali and lord Ganesha and in Chinese culture it can represent fame or personal glory beyond symbolism hibiscus has medicinal and culinary uses the dried petals are used to make hibiscus tea known for its tart cranberry-like flavor and rich vitamin C content the tea is believed to help lower blood pressure and cholesterol boost immunity and aid digestion in some regions hibiscus flowers are used in herbal remedies for hair care skin health and wound healing the plant is also used in cosmetics.
