Cynanchum rostellatum is native to East Asia particularly China Korea and Japan it is a climbing plant that grows vigorously by twining around nearby structures shrubs or trees and is well adapted to both wild and cultivated environments the plant is characterized by its slender stems opposite leaves and small but distinct star-shaped flowers that appear in clusters during its blooming season the flowers are typically greenish white or pale yellow and though not large they possess a delicate beauty and emit a mild fragrance the fruit of Cynanchum rostellatum develops into long paired follicles that split open upon maturity releasing numerous seeds each attached to a silky tuft of hair which aids in wind dispersal allowing.
