yes that is possible.. maybe one of the steemians here know something about it.. good thing you had posted it..
This may be the legendary Thunderbird of Native American Fame. It does seem to fit the legend they revere to this day, of the giant bird bigger than a Man that rises to fly before a thunderstorm arrives.
THIS could be that Bird....:)
