RE: Cats of Tuscany - (Hidden) Beauty of Europe
Seeing peaceful, leisurely basking in the sun, or just lying on the street, alley cats says a lot about a country. The last time I set foot in Greece, for example, the state of the street cats added another "no" to the list of questions about whether I like this country. Yes, it has beautiful seas, incredible beaches (I'm not sure I've ever entered their water, but I would definitely enter such water more than in Bulgarian ones), their food is delicious, the service is top-notch, but the cats around can refuse you from wanting to sit in a restaurant, walk the streets, etc. It's just obvious that the locals don't respect these alien royals, and it leaves a rather strange feeling to outsiders. I've heard that it's not like that in Turkey. It's not like that in Spain. It's not like that also in Italy, particularly Tuscany, as your wonderful photos of these royal street figures clearly attest.😺👑📸
