This Jaw once belonged to a living bull-calf less than a month ago.

The calf was found with a swollen belly, it had to be cut open to determine what killed it. The most that was found was a nylon piece of twine in one of the stomachs. (Ruminants have 4)

Since it's been over a week since the 'autopsy', the neighborhood dogs have made short work of what was left of the carcass.

I'm sorry if these photos are disturbing or disgusting, but it gives emphasis to the brevity of life and loss of value when it is lost. This could have grown into a profitable bull if it lived longer. Instead, it fed the dogs and cats of the surrounding area.

Think of the effort time, and investments people put into raising any living being, and you understand the feeling of loss once a loved one passes on. It helps us understand why people gather to console the bereaved.

(photos by me).
