Hiking around Vorderriss area along the Isar river, found this tiny maple tree, growing alone in the stones. It must be a very strong wind, who took a maple seed so far from its origin. A great willing to live and exceptional stamina of this small plant is fantastic. True Grit!

Beautiful! The strength that is behind a seed is nearly unfathomable. They can survive for so long and through such extreme environments. Great photograph. :)
Maples are very common in my area and I see them popping up through the gravel near my house. It must have been so cool to see one so far away from adult trees. They really do have true grit. :) Your photo is lovely.
