The image is of Søren Kierkegaard who has been labeled as the Father of Christian Existentialism, which essentially makes him the father of existentialism itself I believe.
The 'claustrophobic' experience is an attempt to capture the idea that when we are living life and experiencing it, we sometimes don't really seem to know what it all means. It is only when we stop to reflect that meaning becomes apparent. In that moment of introspection though, paradoxically, we are not living (or at least not experiencing life with our full attention during that introspection). So perhaps not the best word, but one that I came up with at short notice to express the inhibition of meaning in raw experience where we are fully attendant to the moment.
I think this meme expresses some of that essence of how when we are living life, there is no time to explain.
Thank you for this. Whilst reading your reply, I was reminded of a quotation from Steve Jobs: "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life" (https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/quotes/s/stevejobs416854.html). I agree that many of us are often lost when trying to experiencing our own lives or rather that our experience can be limited in many ways.
