I am delighted to find that you found the poem worthwhile and captivating. Indeed, The Casualties is a great poem that speaks to all of us one way or the other. I wish the world leaders would realize that there is never a complete victory in war - something, no matter how little, will be destroyed and sacrificed.
I do not understand what you meant when you wrote:
War will come again, all too soon, and many of us living today will become casualties.
