A bright white shimmer | Poetry

First, I heard a low rumble.
It grew louder in the cool air.
Then I saw it. A bright white shimmer.
Water poured like sunshine.

The spray hit my face.
It felt like a soft kiss.
The air was thick and wet.
A green smell filled my nose.
I walked closer to the noise.





I took a deep breath.
A shiver ran through me.
Then I jumped in.
The water hit me hard.
It felt like a big sting.
Tons of water pushed down.





The water beat down.
It felt like a strong hug.
I could not see anything.
Time and place vanished.
Everything was white noise.
My worries floated away.
