Sounds like a pretty messed up childhood had an impression on the adult. Shame. "Adults can rise above their raising" as Oprah once said.

Sounds like an existentialist crisis is about to happen to this character. Might be a good idea?

Perhaps we all need a good existential crisis from time to time. They are a gift in a way. I am thankful for mine:) Stay tuned:):):)
