The Need for Liberation
Chained down, longing to be free.
In a box, no bigger than where you and I pee.
This is no place for a human being.
I mean, how could it be?
They are not caged animals.
Once they were just like you and me.
And then we are shocked,
as their hate multiplies and intensifies.
It gives rise to behaviors you and I despise.
But the look in their eyes,
clearly shows the means of reaching our goal has died.
A true disaster of the human condition,
intuition would tell you we swayed from our position.
Placing Morality & Justice at the top of the ladder.
But the latter has failed to remain an imperative.
In fact, we’ve abandoned our fellow brother and left him in suspension.
Between what we want, and what we could be.
Without the tools for success,
surely, I hope you wouldn’t blame me.
An impossible task to ask,
yet we do.
