Our world is an unending bounty of inspiration! From the stars in the heavens to the sounds of fintastic ocean dwellers, and everything in between, comes Poetry Bounty.
We'll be offering up a treasure trove of prompts to spark your imaginations and stir your emotions as you unleash your poetic talents. In regards to our prompts, the world is our oyster. Free use music, everyday sounds, photos, single words, & more are in store for you all. Should you wish to provide a prompt (an image, some of your music, a video you've created, etc.) for the contest, please feel free to let us know in the comments below or in our Bananafish Realms on Discord.
How to Participate
• Listen to the prompt song and let it inspire you.
Please note that only the music is the prompt and NOT the title or video images.
• Write a poem related to the music.
Any form of poetry is accepted. Have fun and unleash your creativity!
If including the video below, please copy & paste the entire Attribution section.

• Post your poem on your blog or in the comment section below this post.

This is a wonderful iniziative, thank you @brisby and @calluna. It reminds me of the times when I was a guitar player, my band and my unseparable guitar.. The song is evocative and I like the hard rock change of pace!

Hmm.. The last person to enjoy my poetry was my wife when I was courting her. She was in love. And love is blind (deaf too). Not sure you guys will enjoy my poetry. Should I even (poe) TRY?

My dear @calluna: I will make a post out of it. Perhaps add some distraction by discussing history. This will give the contest more visibility, maybe? Wonderful idea to give us the opportunity to write verse. You see we love it, just have no confidence, or talent, in that area. We should exercise those muscles, no matter how awkwardly. The act of creating is good for the heart, and soul.

I'm not a poet, but everyone can have fun with poetry, so here goes:
Your music got me thinking about Ireland. After listening to the selection, I read an article about how the EU is trying to ban the cutting of peat, and how this policy affects residents of rural Ireland. Then I recalled starvation in Ireland during the potato famine. So here's my brief poem:
The Big House
Well, you know,
Those fellows in the Big House,
They say we can't
Cut peat.
I remember the time
When we couldn't
Keep our own potatoes,
They said.
Can't have heat.
Weren't allowed to eat.
How does the Big House expect us
To live?
Dedicated to my Irish mother-in-law, who used to cut peat for fuel in County Roscommon, Ireland
