Thanks for the thoughtful and well written piece. What a quagmire trade relations are. I feel we have strived for and been a champion for free trade more than most any other country. It has led to other countries taking some advantage of us. The tendency is to retaliate but as you point out it can be a double edged sword. I do believe we need to be better negotiators of our trade relationships and stand strongly for fair trade. At the same time optimizing the advantages for all companies to locate the businesses in the US might mitigate some of the problems. Thanks again for the food for thought about these tough problems.
