I don't understand all the issues here, but it is certainly amusing.
Is this government shutdown demonstrating to the average American that it doesn't actually need government? Is this a way to save money and perhaps address the massive deficit/debt that has been run up by government?
In some ways it seems like the seed of an idea is being planted....
To me the fact we don't need 95% of what government offers is obvious, I think the average American doesn't know what freedom is/means so they are oblivious to most of what is going on around them. I've long been of the opinion that most government officials around the world fit the basic definition of sociopaths and the current state of affairs only goes to reinforce this belief.
In the US, 99% of "spending" is mandated outside of the budget process so most of this is all just a sham. Even though there is a "shutdown" all of these furloughed workers will get back pay, so for them its mainly a cashflow problem...but hey, when you live paycheck to paycheck what do you expect.
