You're pretty much right on all accounts. Though I don't necessarily think that you have to be an emotionless robot like often media portrays men to overcome. I have flat out rejected that entire idea my whole life and still have no trouble coping with quite a few things. I can talk about my feelings without them overcoming me necessarily.
