in Project HOPElast month

Everyone of us can not deny the fact that we did not brush our teeth. In fact that is the most common ritual that we continually practice every single day. It is a hygiene habit that I have been practicing since my childhood moment upto this particular moment when I am even an adult. And of course, we can not deny the fact that brushing is necessary. It helps us to have fresh breath and also helps to protect our cavities from any germs.

But even though brushing our teeth every morning is good, there is still a health risk that we usually ignore most of the time that brushing our teeth might not be able to prevent alone and that is gum disease. Gum disease is not something that we are all new to. From my research, one of the dangers about gum disease is the fact that it will not start suddenly. What I mean is, the symptoms is not really aggressive.

You can be suffering from gum disease for many years and you will not know that you have it. The little symptoms that might manifest us little bleeding when you brush which might not even be obvious. If gum disease is not treated, it can lead to your teeth suffering from been lose and decay. I was shocked when I discovered that brushing your teeth alone does not even stop you from suffering from gum disease.

If you are reading this and you are wondering why am I talking about gum disease, because I have come to discover that it can lead to several issue in your body. Gum disease from my research can lead to heart disease, can leads to diabetes because it will be difficult to control your blood sugar level. It can even leads to respiratory infections because of the bacterial in the mouth can move to your lungs. This will lead to some people developing pneumonia.

The issue with many people when they are engaging in their oral routines is they always think brushing is enough. Brushing is not enough, you will need to engage in flossing. In intervals of days, make proper use of flossing so that places whereby your toothbrush can not reach, flossing will be able to handle it. This will go a long way to prevent gum diseases.

There are other healthy habits we can engage into that can help protect our teeth. Going for dental checkup constantly go a long way to help prevent gum disease or any other related teeth disease. If I should ask many of us, it has been a long time we go for dental checkup. It helps us to be aware of some teeth issue at the early stage. Also avoiding smoking will help to prevent you from having gum disease. All these things might actually look so little but trust me, when you combine them together, it will help us to live healthy.
