The fastest pedal car in the world.

This ideal is fantastic, a pedal car is capable of reaching 120 km/h, it seems crazy, but it is what the French company Cixi is creating with the Vigoz, a vehicle that brings a bold proposal, combining human pedaling, electric propulsion and automotive design in a three-wheeled model.

Cixi has been working for about 10 years on the development of a chainless, beltless transmission system; Called PSE, pedaling energy recovery system, it transforms human power into electricity and sends this energy to a motor in the wheel hub.

In practice it is like pedaling an electric bicycle, only much more comfortable, with each pedal you accelerate and even control the braking, while a 22 kWh battery stores the energy to extend the autonomy.

The initial prototype was tested at 100 km/h and the final version should reach 120 with an estimated range of 160 km per charge, to ensure safety and comfort. The Vigoz has a narrow chassis with energy absorption elements, three-point belts and even internal air conditioning.

The driver pedals in a reclined position with his head 1.30 cm from the ground and uses side levers to steer. In addition, the active tilt system makes the vehicle lie down slightly when cornering, giving more stability and a feeling of control.

A very beneficial alternative.

Another curious detail is the rear space, it fits a passenger, a pet or even larger luggage, all inside a transparent bubble that protects from wind and rain, and if the battery runs out, it is still possible to pedal and continue the journey, although without electrical reinforcement, which can make the experience much more demanding. For now, the Vigoz has already revealed its design and will enter the certification phase before production.

The price has not yet been disclosed, but the company promises to open reservations as soon as the schedule is defined. It is a risky bet, but very interesting, a hybrid between car and bicycle that can change the way we think about interurban urban mobility.
