A Fair Start; A Positive Beginning
A lot of people do not know that what you do with the first will go a long way to determine how the rest will look like. I once watched a 100m race where one of the competitors who everyone thought would win the race stumbled at takeoff. As soon as the whistle went, he tried taking off but stumbled a bit, before he could get himself, the rest where already far ahead. He tried so hard, yet he did not win the race. Even though he was the favourite to win the race, but because of a poor start, he was denied the win. This goes to prove that your starting point also matters to your finishing point. You cannot start on the wrong foot and hope to be met with the good result. To achieve success, you also need to have a positive beginning.

To start on a good note gives you a fair start in life and positions you for success. It might be a career, a job, a business, a relationship, or even something as simple as a conversation - how you start will influence how things will unfold. A few years ago, as I entered a particular office to make a transaction, a lady walked up to me and wanted to enquire from me about the same transaction that I came to do. She also came for the same thing but she was obviously stuck at hers. How she approached me with a good tone, mixed with a sense of humour and positive energy was cool. Within just a few minutes, we became friends, we exchanged contacts and that was how a good friendship started. So sometimes, even to begin a conversation, you need a fair start.
You will agree with me that the energy, attitude, and mindset that you bring at the start can determine the tone of event and everything that follows. If you want to accomplish something great, then you have to take your starting point seriously. Starting on a fair note is like laying a solid foundation when you want to build a house, so that any structure you put on top of it will have strength. One very vital reason why you need to have a positive beginning is that it sets your mindset aright, which gives you the confidence to face life and to see challenges as opportunities. In whatever you want to do, always try to start well. More than you will realise, your starting will definitely determine your finishing.

A good start is already a fair advantage because it fills you with the required energy to pursue your dreams, and to keep you going even if the journey seems difficult. More so, it builds momentum for you and strengthens you along the way. When you start something with a strong and positive attitude, and a spirit of "I can do this," you will be more likely to achieve small wins quickly. These small wins will also set the pace for bigger wins. Just to let you know, success is a result of small consistent steps, but the first step carries a great deal of importance.
When you meet someone for example, your first impression will matter greatly to the kind of image you will create in the mind of the person. This can actually open you up to more connections, bigger opportunities and support system. However, to have a fair start and a positive beginning, there are things that you need to understand. Firstly, you have to plan and prepare for the steps you want to take. Do not just jump into something because you feel like doing it. If a builder wants to build a tall building, he will make sure that the foundation is very deep. If what you want to start is worthwhile, then you have to plan for it first.
You have to understand that if you do not start on a good note, even if you discover it in the course of the journey, then you need to make a turn. You cannot get to a right destination if you are already on a wrong route. As a matter of fact, the actions you take on a wrong lane has the tendency of being futile. Even speed will not be an advantage if you have taken a wrong turn. The good thing is that it is never late to have a fair start no matter how long you have been on a wrong lane.
