Armin Meiwes is not a serial killer but he became one of Germany's most famous killers because of the grotesqueness of the crime he committed. He had a relatively happy childhood with his family and then joined the army where he was well respected by his colleagues, retiring after 10 years of service.

Although his childhood was positive, during adolescence he stayed with his mother, because his brothers and his father left the house. The mother was controlling so Armin's friends were few, this way he begins to have an imaginary friend with whom he develops sexual and emotional affections, establishing as a maximum expression of love to ingest him

From the death of his mother he intends to fulfill the wishes that in his adolescence had already awakened, he felt no kind of ties or responsibilities, so he began the search for his first victim (or love?). Through internet forums, a chef is contacted who is willing to be devoured, also offering two of his kitchen assistants, however, this meeting was not given due to the chef's doubts. It was not just a matter of own pleasure, he wanted the other person to want to be eaten.

Finally he finds the engineer Bernd Jurgen, a practicing man of violent sex who longed to be eaten. Both he and "the Rothenburg Cannibal" were together for a weekend to test their limits. There was no turning back, the wishes of both would be satisfied by the other.

The victim asked desperately to cut his penis, Meiwes did it and cooked it for both of them. Having consumed a huge amount of drugs and alcohol, he no longer felt any pain. After this terrible act, "the Rothenburg Cannibal" killed Bernd Jurgen by cutting him up, recording every second with a camera, to consume it the following weeks.

Armin Meiwes continued with the search for victims, boasted to have consumed human flesh in the forums that he frequented. Such words would attract the attention of a young man who reported him to the police, and was finally discovered and imprisoned. In the first instance he was only sentenced to 8 and a half years in prison but a couple of years later he was changed to life imprisonment. He is still alive, eager to eat human flesh.
