Guinness World Records that are still available
I look at strange news stories because I believe almost all news about anything that can be even remotely political is just infiltrated by the people who control the world and all of what we get to see about it is simply not-so-carefully-contrived lies.
There is a certain segment of the "news" that isn't something the overlords would even bother with because it brings them no power and one of those strange news stories came from a puff-piece from Sky News, an organization that is definitely compromised and part of the global problem as far as anything politically oriented is concerned.

These awards aren't often talked about anymore but there was a time where if you went over to just a few friends' houses you would probably end up seeing one of these books on a coffee table and they were always interesting to me. There are a ton of records on really stupid things that to me I can't imagine that anyone would even try.
A few years back it made local USA news when a man broke the world record for balancing a lawnmower on his head - how does someone even think to try something like this?
I don't know how the certification process works but I think that for the important awards there is some sort of verification that needs to be done by the organization itself. As far as all of these are concerned though, I can't imagine them actually sending an actual person out to confirm them.
The most high-fives in 30 seconds
These guys claim to have won the world record but there were some comments about how in order to qualify each high-five has to go behind one's head. Not sure if that happened here but I don't really care. Still, They did 140 of them in 30 seconds and for the sake of preserving my hand skin, I don't think I am going to try this one.
The most whoopie cushions sat on in one minute
This sounds like a huge waste of money just to maybe get your name into a book that nobody buys anymore.
These guys did it for 30 seconds and it doesn't really seem like the most efficient way that it could be done. Perhaps they know about some rules that I am unaware of and do not care enough to look it up. I think this one could be broken but I have no idea where someone would get a bunch of whoopie cushions anyway.
For one minute the current World Champion is someone in Japan who managed 103 in the year 2020. Borrow some chairs and buy 110 whoopie cushions and have a try! According to a search I did you can get them for just $2 each. $200 isn't a lot of money provided you don't fail lol.
World's fastest 400 meter sack race
This one is going to be a wild card because apparently, 2025 is the first year that a record will be recorded for this particular dumb event.

src
I think this will be an exercise in futility though because no matter how fast you think you are, someone a bit more crazy than you are is going to do it a lot faster. 400 meters is one time around an official running track and while that might seem very doable, I recall doing these races as a child and they were exhausting, and we definitely didn't go for 400 meters.
Fastest time to cycle up, EVEREST
This one just seems insane to me since so many people have died trying to simply trek up the world's tallest mountain on foot and with a ton of gear to protect them.

src
This is the one that caught my eye because I was thinking that there is no way that this is even possible and also that Guinness could get themselves into a lot of trouble because there are some people out there that are nuts enough to try it.
As it turns out, you don't actually have to cycle the real Mount Everest and the national park people in Nepal wouldn't let you if you wanted to try. Instead, you need to do an bicycle climb without any sort of engine assistance for the equivalent height of Everest, which is 8,848 meters. This has already been accomplished by someone in Ireland in 6 hours and 40 minutes/54 seconds.

src
he accomplished this by going up and then down the same hill in Ireland over and over and over again until nearly all people on the planet would have died due to exhaustion. I think I will sit this one out.
So there you have it folks, there are 4 stories that are more filled with truth than almost all news you are going to see about world events from any news station in the world. I already find it so much more interesting than rumors about Trump or getting the "official word" about what is going on in Ukraine.
