Cute Grandma

Do you know what is special just like a mother?
A grandmother!!
Grandmothers are always special and amazing especially to their grand children. They might be strict with their children but when it comes to their grandchildren, they don't joke. They always want their grandchildren to be around them. They love cooking for their grandchildren and most importantly they always have some monetary gifts waiting either in their wrappers or purses.

What makes a grandmother stand out is the love they have for their grandchildren or great grandchildren. They can't stop loving us or showing us love.

Everyone of us have had grandparents. Both my grandparents are very special but I had a very close and amazing relationship with my grandmother. She was special and anytime we visited her in the village, she was always excited to see us. She always prepared food already for us; this is so that when we arrive, we have something to eat. She didn't want us to stress out ourselves but we always wanted to help her anyway.

We loved playing with our grandmother and she loved that we were around her always. Once, she was looking for her scarf...it was on her head but she was looking for it throughout the house. We also helped her to look for the scarf not knowing it was on her head. We searched and scattered the whole house for hours.

Whilst she was sitting down to rethink where she could have kept the scarf, her hands went to her head and she just bursted out laughing. We asked her if that was the scarf she was looking for and she said yes with a smile. We all laughed so hard because we looked for the scarf throughout the room but it was on her head. We couldn't stop laughing and that is a memory I will never forget of her. She was a cute human, always calm, hardworking to the core and a peaceful person.

My grandmother said a lot of things to us most of which were advices to help us in life. But her most iconic phrase was whatever you sow, that you will reap, either good or bad. She always said this in our native language. She always told us to be careful the kind of things we do, that it will always have repercussions. This helped to shape our lives and we tried to always do the right things

When it comes to recipes, my grandmother was really good at it. She always prepared a special soup for us anytime we visited. The food I love to eat from her is called 'Mkpa Efere'. It is a native soup that is cooked with stock fish and meat. The meal is always heavenly and amazing and we are always sure she will prepare it anytime we visited. Another food she loved preparing was rice and stew with chicken. It was always a special delicacy for great events and we enjoyed eating her food.

She was a special cook, and I wouldn't know if we inherited her cooking style. But her lovely cooking style influenced the way we cook and prepare cuisines. We might not cook the amazing and finger-licking recipes she used to prepare but we have been influenced by her cooking.
