Columbus Day
How are you all my friends? I hope you are all doing well. Some dates in history do not just stay on the pages of books; we all know that. Some things in history leave an indelible impression on people's minds, which cannot be forgotten even if one wants to.

12 October 1492 was one such date.
The day when two worlds came face to face for the first time. On one side were the explorers of Europe and on the other side were the innocent people of America, who had no idea what was going to happen to them.
Friends, today, when I hear the words “Día de la Raza”, a strange, mixed feeling first arises in my mind. On the one hand, there is a lot of curiosity, and full of wonder; it is amazing to think that one continent is creating another. On the other hand, a silent pain is flowing, a world is losing its natural, calm rhythms.
So I now and again believe, what if that day had by no means come? What if the sea waves had never brought the European ships to the seashores of America? Then maybe the woodland people could nevertheless be sitting round the fire, telling tales in their gods, gambling their tune on the flute, and the arena would be a little quieter, a bit truer.
My heart becomes heavy when I hear the song "Amutuy Soledad". In the words of this song I can hear the cries of those whose land was taken away, whose language was crushed by another language. "Amutuy" means "let's go" – but this "going away" is not a pleasant journey, but an obligation, a struggle for survival. Still his courage has not broken. They have only moved away, not been extinguished. Their songs, their land, their prayers are still alive in the air.
For me, Dia de la Raza is not a celebration. It's a day when I think - how much we have changed and how much we have lost as human beings. Today we understand each other’s languages, wear each other’s clothes, and share food. But somewhere there is a void, which began from that first meeting.
Still, I believe that a new beauty is born in every mixture. Today's America, today's world, everything is made from that mixture. Maybe this is why I see this day as a "Day of Diversity."

Because as much as there is a difference in blood, there is as much desire for unity.
So in the end friends, I want to say that we are all children of history. In that history, some will win, and some will lose. But in the end, we are all part of one story, a story in which people find their roots, their truth, their identity. This is reality, this is reality.
Anyway, I am ending here today. I hope you liked my detailed words. If you like it, then definitely share your thoughts.
