As sunset's golden glow faded, memories lingered in silence.
Microstory !
As the sunset is golden glow faded , "I " was sat alone on the worn bench gazing at the horizon. The sky had been a beautiful canvas of clouds and deep purple , just moment ago but now it dissolve in the shadows leaving behind a lingering silence. I closed my eyes , trying to hold on that fleeting warmth, both of the sky and her memories.
Memories flashed vividly on my childhood laughter in the summer fields. The love I was thought eternal and the promises made under the same burning sky. However, with the every sunset a silent question bothered me, Had I truly understood what was I lost ? As the hues of dusk disappeared in the darkness, A mysterious feeling crept in , a whisper of something unresolved.
My mind is drifted back to that evening years ago when I had stood there with my partner. The sky had burnd brighter then , full of hopes , full of dreams. Now the quite empitiness around me lingered the void that had grown since his departure. The mysterious sudden leaving no answers. There is no farewell , just an empty chair 🪑 and an unanswered calls.
Suddenly, a faint shimmer in the shadows caught my eye. A flicker of light , distant yet deliberate seemed to dance on the horizon. Was it a trick of fading light or something else ? My heart quickened. Was it he (my partner) ? Or perhaps his presence always been lingering in these fading sunset , in the silent memories I clung to ?
As darkness covered the sky , I felt mysterious calm mixed with curiosity. Sometimes, I thought memories are like sunsets vivid , beautiful but fleeting , leaving us with questions we can never fully answered. Perhaps, the true mystery was not lie in the fading sky but in the silent, lingering memories we carry long after the light has gone.
As I stood to leave the shimmering disappeared swallowed by the night . I glanced once more at the horizon. A smile touches my lips. Maybe some mysteries are not meant to be solved , just cherished in the brief burning glow of the Sunset.
