Sea Shore Baluarte, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental
Hello, Steemians! I hope we are all in God's grace and Mercy.
Today I will share with you the day I paid a visit on the sea shore Baluarte, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. I live in Bukidnon, and it was at least 20 minutes away from the sea, and due to my tight schedule, I rarely go on the beach or the sea shore to take a dip or enjoy the benefits of the sea on my body.
Back in January 2023, I and my wife decide d to go to the beach to gather talaba for the DIY Filter tank I was about to make for my koi fish at home. I started to have koi fish back in September 2022 and keeping them was very healing.
At 9 am, I and my wife headed to the beach from our home using my motorcycle, We went down from Alae towards Puerto, Cagayan de oRo City and turned right towards Bugo and finally, Tagoloan Misamis Oriental. We crossed the road just beside the Tagoloan Municiapl Hall and went staright to Baluarte beach shore even passing the Tagoloan Community College.
Tagoloan is located in the east of Cagayan do Oro and had an area long the coast but most of the coast were owned by huge companies where they made into ports but I am just glad that there are parts of the beach that was still owned by the government and everyone is welcome to pay a visit with no entrance fees and taxes.
Accomodations
Sadly since the beach is government-owned, there were no cottages available for renting in the beach but there are trees that provide shadows for shelter. It would be better to bring your own food if you decide to go in this place.
Sea Wall Behind Baluarte Barangay Hall
Just behind the Baluarte Barangay hall, a sea wall was built to protect the establishment, it also serves a high ground for people who only likes sight seeing and chilling,
My wife sitting on the edge of the sea wall.
left side of the sea wall
On the left side of the seawall was this concave beach, we were not able to go down since there were no safe steps to use but it still looks like a good place to bathe.
Right side of the sea wall
On the right side of the sea wall, the beach looks more friendly and inviting, the space is more wide and many people can be seen dipping their body on the salt water . Kids and adults alike, they all enjoyed the beach and it made us both regret for not bringing extra clothes for swim.
The Sea
During our visit, the waves were not strong and I was thinking that it is a good spot for everyone to swim, teh salt water is clear indicating cleanliness which make it ideal to bathe and enjoy.
What's more is that the beach is still very abundant in marine life, during my visit, I caught a glimpse of a dead sea urchin which I assumed that it came form the beach itself and was consumed by the people that lived near. There are also parts of the beach that had many small talaba and soon it would grow and would give food to the locals.
I remember back when I was still studying at this place, many people come to the beach during low tide to hunt for sea clams and sell them or eat them. Not only that, the sight of the fishermen at the sea indicates abundant marine life as well.
Sights to be seen
Another exciting thing to be seen on Baluarte Beach are the gigantic ships that docks on the nearby seaports, Having seen container ships this close are just a sight to behold, not to mention that the beach also displays wonderful sunset views especially in the afternoon at summer, too bad we were not able to stay until dusk for pictures
Also, the scenic view of Mount Malasag, and some mountains in Cagayan de Oro as shown on teh pictures attached in this post can also be observed in the place
